“There was an old farmer who had a donkey. That donkey was out wandering the farm one day and came upon a deep dark well. He took one step to close and down he went. He started making all sorts of donkey noises; soon the farmer and the neighbors came running. They tried everything to get that donkey out of the hole, finally the old farmer said, there’s nothing left to do but bury him. They started shoveling in dirt. The donkey made even louder donkey noises, he knew he’d better take matters into his own hands or be buried alive. Every time they shoveled in dirt, he’d shake it off and jump on top, shake it off and jump on top. It wasn’t long before that donkey walked right out of that hole.”
