AMERICA’S YELLOW RIBBON
Simple Yellow Ribbon,
Sacred as a Prayer.
Your strength as strong as steel,
A quality so Rare.
Streaming down our highways,
Symbol of our Hope.
America’s “Yellow Ribbon”,
Is helping us to Cope.
Uniting neighbors Doorways,
The ribbon makes us Friends.
Unspoken silent Wishes,
For all of us to Tend.
Oh, may we be not lacking,
Our hands stretched cross the sea.
Making sure that others,
Will have Democracy.
Or might we be a Nation
Of “Gravy Lappers” who,
Gobble up the goodies,
And don’t want to share with “You”.
We enjoy “Our” Country’s freedoms,
A gift from long ago.
From brave young men and women,
Who said that they would go.
Sacrifice isn’t ever easy,
Usually unpopular too.
Because when it’s required,
It has to come from y0u.
Some things are worth defending,
Even when we’d like to hide.
Freedom’s Choice and Courage,
Are always side by side.
Now, there are “2″ different view points,
Of that we’re all aware.
But America’s “Yellow Ribbons”,
A message all can share.
